From a Program to a Permanent Home, The Hearts & Hands Skills Center! Launching This September 2026 in Kagoma, Wakiso District

For years, the Heart to Heart Initiative has walked alongside vulnerable teenagers and young adults. We started with a simple dream, to provide a safe space for youth to heal, discover their worth, and learn basic skills. Now, we are taking our biggest step yet. This September 2026, our skilling program is officially graduating into a permanent, state-of-the-art Hearts & Hands Skills Center. We are transitioning from temporary setups to a dedicated hub designed to build self-reliance, character, and hope.

What We Are Building Right Now

We are on the ground right now setting up workshops for our students this September. Thanks to our partners who are supporting this cause.

  • Digital Innovation & Computer Lab: Armed with a generous starting donation of six (6) high-quality computers, we are setting up our digital lab to teach digital literacy, online business, and applied AI tools.
  • Tailoring & Fashion Studio: A dedicated space for garment cutting, pattern design, and professional stitching to help youth launch fashion micro-businesses.
    • Hairdressing & Salon
  • Space: A functional practice space equipped to train young people in modern cosmetology, barbering, and salon management.

Seeds of Hope – Our Vision for Expansion

We are building in faith. While Phase 1 launches this September, we are praying for strategic partners to help us fully realize and equip our next two workshops:

  •  Electrical & Carpentry Workshop – A technical space to teach domestic electrical installation, solar wiring, and modern woodwork/furniture design.
  • Catering & Culinary Kitchen –A commercial-standard kitchen to train future bakers, chefs, and catering entrepreneurs.

We don’t just train workers; we rebuild lives. Every young person (ages 13 to 25+) who walks through our doors receives:

  1. Healing –  Professional counseling to process past trauma and find peace.
  2. Character – Core soft skills, professional etiquette, and emotional intelligence.
  3. Thriving – Concrete vocational skills paired with business and digital literacy.

By supporting a young adult today, you are protecting their identity, helping them make the right life choices, and equipping them to build stable, violence-free families tomorrow.

🤝 Help Us Build, Join the Journey

We have the space, the vision, and the first six computers but we need your help to fully equip the center for our September 2026 grand opening.

  • Sponsor a Computer – Help us scale our lab to a full 20-station classroom ($500/setup).
  • Donate Skilling Tools – Sponsor a sewing machine, a salon chair, or a catering oven.
  • Fund a Workshop – Partner with us to construct our upcoming Electrical, Carpentry, or Culinary workshops.
  • Sponsor a Student – Fund a vulnerable youth’s complete tuition, counseling, and trade tools. Together, we are building a stronger youth, family and community, lets do it!

What We Offer:

  • Practical Training: Participants receive hands-on training in wiring, installing electrical systems, troubleshooting, and safety protocols.
  • Experienced Instructors: The program is led by skilled professionals who guide trainees through every step of the learning process.
  • Certification: Upon completion, trainees receive certification, boosting their credibility and employability in the job market.
