The Hafizwa Hope Project
Our newest project is The Hafizwa Hope Project which started its pilot work in July 2024. This project provides comprehensive mental health support to young mothers in Uganda with a package addressing their mental social and financial needs to enable them to gain healing, enhance their skills, promote their wellbeing and that of their children.
This project draws its name, Hafizwa from the late Hafizwa, the biological mother of Sarah Kwagala Kasozi. Hafizwa too was a young mother who had Sarah at the age of 16 followed by 4 more children before the age of 25. She struggled to raise her five children on her own, made some good choices and met great challenges that claimed her life at the age of 29 years.
Her story gives us the inspiration to support young mothers to overcome the challenges they face, gain healing and be supported to improve on their wellbeing and that of their children
